I went to the zoo yesterday and it's kind of fascinating to see it still open but with most of the zoo closed down; the African section was completely closed (understandable) and the Australian section was limited to two indoor sections with fish. The rainforest section was completely open, but currently consists of an indoor area (including a big heated dome full of plants, and an area for writing letters to Santa and face painting), a carousel, and a whole bunch of empty exhibits.

The farm animal section was the only one that had many animals out on display outside, and they're probably the best equipped to handle the cold out of the whole zoo. Especially the ones covered in wool.

The zoo's penguins are from Africa rather than Antarctica, but when I conveniently leave that context out I can make the funny comment that it was too cold for even the penguins.

I want to go one more time this year, just so I can make sure to go on the train one more time. It should be significantly warmer (41 Fahrenheit) this Sunday. But the allure of Dippin' Dots and red pandas (who also don't mind the cold) may draw me in a few additional times...
