I think mascot characters are probably my biggest special interest of all, though I'm clearly interested in specific kinds so maybe there's a better descriptor?

I'm generally interested in the cute animal-y ones with simple but effective designs (especially with theming!! Especially when that theming comes with cute symbols), and I would count stuff like Sanrio characters, Hamtaro, Poshul, Elfilin, Cerberus from Cardcaptor Sakura, Cerise from Vividlope, Care Bears, and even the XFCE mouse.

I guess I should specifically say my special interest is in "cute animal mascots," which is still very subjective and imprecise but makes it clear I'm not talking about the Michelin Man.

My interest in "platformer" mascots is probably a separate, but related thing, and I have no idea how I would group those together aesthetically. Mario, Crash, Spyro, and Sonic don't really look alike, and a lot of platformer mascots are just furries, like Freedom Planet's cast.

I guess in that case the fact that they are related to platformers somehow is a very important aspect you can't discard in this case, unlike the other kind where actually representing something turns out to be unimportant to me.
