I've been worried about how Tilemap Town has been failing to grow, because it feels like people just log in and check it out for a week maybe and then leave, and that makes me feel like I can't just be patient and let the community grow over time because it's more of a revolving door? I'm not sure. I also have no idea whatsoever how I should be advertising it; I can't seem to find any roleplay site directories that have any furry stuff on there, like the closest I can find is weird Warrior Cat stuff.

Though I did look at the database rather than just guessing, and a good amount of people have been logging in throughout July, but I think the big thing that's missing is coordination. I've seen people suggest trying to meet on a particular day ("Tilemap Town Tuesday" or whatever), and maybe that could be good.

Something I overlooked about trying to establish a community on Discord versus outside of it is that when you join a Discord server and stay in it, you are essentially subscribed to updates in a way where you don't have to keep manually checking for them, and you're one @Π΅vΠ΅ryonΠ΅ away from getting pulled back in and potentially participating again.

I went and set up https://blog.novasquirrel.com/tilemap-town because I already have blog software set up (you're reading an article hosted on it right now!), so people have an RSS/Atom feed they can subscribe to. I don't know how much I'm going to use it but I wanted to try it. I was thinking I could highlight new features, announce events, and highlight things people have made in the world.

I also have permission to make a Tilemap Town subforum on Jess's forum and I could do that? Would people want a forum environment to coordinate over and talk about the game in?
